Job Description

Overview:

As the Area Asset Protection Manager, you will work with cross divisional leaders and teams across an assigned geographical area to mitigate loss to the Co-op, ensure a safe and secure environment for stores and experiences, and will contribute to the Co-op’s impact within the community you serve. You will collaborate with other Asset Protection and Risk Management (AP & RM) teams to identify and develop solutions in support of organizational goals, with a focus on driving results. You will lead and support the work of specialists and vendor guards. You will partner with local law enforcement and community outreach partners to positively impact the experience and safety for employees and customers. You will model and act in accordance with REI’s guiding values and mission.

Responsibilities:

Your Planning & Navigating Requirements (the plans the job is responsible for creating and executing, and how the job ensures they are implemented)

  • Initiates and resolves complex investigations into a variety of risk or loss situations within the retail store or stores.
  • Leads and develops the security team members at assigned location(s).
  • Flexible availability to respond to emergency response incidents and threats.
  • Works closely with law enforcement to ensure all case information is accurate, complete, and represented effectively. (This may include appearing in court, working with task forces, and post incident follow up).
  • Builds partnerships with local city resources and community outreach programs to provide retail stores with necessary resources, including, but not limited to, homelessness, substance abuse, mental health, and youth support programs.
  • Partners with other community retailers to understand security trends in the community, benchmark response and connection with the customers.
  • Seeks opportunities and advocates for continuous improvement related to inventory accuracy to drive profitability.
  • Ensures the execution and performance of the AP & RM program for their assigned locations.
  • Supports the onboarding and ongoing development of leaders in stores you support on relevant AP & RM topics.
  • Drives the onboarding of Safety & Security Specialists and vendor guards.
  • Support area stores with AP & RM services.
  • Collaborates with HQ Asset Protection and the store managers to establish and deepen the understanding and support of in-store AP & RM activities.
  • Participates in periodic training and subject matter updates; stays up to date on security industry trends and best practices
  • Working a schedule with various shifts (including evenings and weekends) to connect with outreach programs and conduct training for AP & RM teams and store leaders.

Base Pay Range: $64,600.00 - $103,500.00 per year
