Job Description

Pantomath is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Automation Engineer to play a crucial role in driving quality and reliability in all Pantomath offerings. As a QA professional at Pantomath, you will validate the platform's ability to provide real-time, accurate, and actionable insights into the flow of data across complex ecosystems. You’ll work at the intersection of backend automation, data tools, and testing strategy—validating data lineage, API reliability, system integrations, and resilience at scale.

What You’ll Do

Integration Testing

• Design and execute comprehensive test cases across data-centric tools and platforms

• Validate integrations with systems like Snowflake, Tableau, Fivetran, and dbt

• Collaborate closely with engineering to ensure accuracy of lineage metadata and observability insights

Automation & Regression

• Build and maintain scalable test automation frameworks for backend services and RESTful APIs

• Automate testing for microservices, metadata flows, and system interactions

• Ensure high test coverage for critical user workflows and data scenarios

Performance & Resilience

• Test system performance under real-world loads from multiple metadata sources

• Validate platform scalability and responsiveness across data volumes

• Ensure robust error handling, resilience, and helpful debugging logs

Mentorship & Leadership

• Mentor and support junior engineers—review code, pair program, and offer regular feedback

• Collaborate with full stack and QA professionals to level up test strategies and coding practices

• Lead by example with clean code, clear documentation, and proactive problem-solving

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Work with developers, product managers, and data engineers to define quality outcomes

• Provide data-driven, actionable insights on improving platform reliability and performance

What You Bring

Technical Skills, Tools, & Experience

• 8+ years experience in QA automation with a focus on complex SaaS systems

• Strong experience in SQL, JavaScript/TypeScript, and test automation libraries

• API testing proficiency using Postman or similar tools

• Hands-on with data pipeline tools like Snowflake, Tableau, Fivetran, dbt

• Familiarity with both front-end frameworks (React.js, Next.js, Vue.js) and back-end frameworks (ExpressJS, NestJS, KOA)

Problem Solving & Debugging

• Attention to detail in catching data lineage issues and metadata inconsistencies

• Excellent debugging skills with a systematic, root-cause-first mindset

Additional Skills

• General understanding of performance testing principles

• Familiarity with security testing approaches and tools

• Awareness of DevOps practices and CI/CD integration
