Hourly commitment: FT 30-40+ hours a week, potential overtime. Required to captain at least 2 days a week

An Assistant Director can serve operationally as an Area Leader and Captain but also has the capacity to serve the business in a greater, more specific function. Assistant Directors serve in one of the 4 key departments in the business, and hold important responsibility to steer the business towards success. This position reports to their Director and has weekly scheduled time out of the business to accomplish their goals. This position is required to work regularly on Fridays and Saturdays.

Overview

The Training Assistant Director is a member of our Sr. Leadership team who serves in the Talent Department as the

key relational expert at Chick-fil-A Phillipsburg. This position reports directly to the Talent Director and is primarily

responsible for 3 areas of ownership:

1. Owns the creation and implementation of the training program.

2. Leads a training team to ensure proper Team Member development.

3. Takes ownership of our Team Member culture to fuel the talent pipeline.

The Training Assistant Director is responsible for the design and implementation of a fully functioning training

program executed by a team of certified trainers to ensure that all new team members partake in a premium training

experience. It is imperative that this person is self-motivated, highly organized and able to communicate and lead

professionally and efficiently. 

Role Purpose

The Training Assistant Director is an integral part in each team member's journey within our business. This position

will train, schedule, and develop their certified trainer team to ensure they are offering a premium training

experience for new team members. This position is expected to lead by example when training and challenge their

certified trainer team to ensure new team members can become advanced team members within the first 90-120 days

of employment.

Core Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a premium training system using Chick-fil-A’s in house training systems.
  • Ensures training plans are up to date with the most recent changes and rollouts.
  • Monitor new Team Member progress as they move through their training.
  • Lead, train and monitor a team of BOH & FOH certified trainers.
  • Team Member Development
  • Fuels Team Member engagement to pursue progress towards advancement.
  • Facilitate cross training based on organizational needs where and when appropriate. 
  • Partner with Talent Director to activate kickstart plans for low performing team members.
  • Regularly communicates updates to team member journey advancements.
  • Culture Care
  • Executes End of Training touch points with Team Members to ensure proper onboarding/training.
  • Intentionally seeks feedback from team members to continuously evolve our training systems.
  • Actively seeks ways to limit stress for team members within the organization.
  • Supports the Talent Director in maintaining a culture where Team Members feel valued and cared for.

  • Team member retention rate – 60%
  • Certified Trainer Team: 10 or more
  • End of Training Team Member touchpoints: 100%
  • Advanced Team Members promoted within 6 months: 100%
